The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky's team should publicly support the autonomy of Donbas. This was stated by the chairman of the political council of the "Opposition platform - For Life" party Viktor Medvedchuk in an interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“I read that Zelensky’s team would support autonomy in Crimea, Crimean-Tatar autonomy. I think that it should also support Donbas’s autonomy. And it should declare this publicly, politically. I don’t see any difference. We have a unitary state, I already said this as a specialist in constitutional law. This unitary state assumes that there is autonomy for one region. This is Crimea. The Crimean autonomy and Crimea, which is part of Ukraine, its rights and regulation are written in the Constitution, and at the same time our state has not ceased to be unitary.

Our proposals and our changes to the Constitution as a project proposed in our peace plan consist in expanding the autonomy of Crimea section and adding the autonomous region of Donbas. And all the powers and rights that are in the section relating to the legal settlement of Crimea, we extend to the autonomous region of Donbas. And after this Ukraine does not cease to be a unitary state. And there is absolutely no federation, the shadow of a federation, hints on a federation. We do not change anything, " he said.

Earlier, Medvedchuk said that the “Opposition bloc” at the parliamentary elections was engaged in illegal actions against the “Opposition Platform - For Life” party.
