President Zelensky urges church leaders to dialogue

Ukraine's President congratulated believers on the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus'

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called for the heads of the churches to start the dialogue, "so that faith would unite, and not divide Ukrainians." This is stated in his congratulation on the occasion of the 1031 anniversary of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus', published on Twitter.

"This historic event has become a powerful incentive for the unification of the ancient state, its strengthening, and development. I urge the heads of churches to dialogue so that faith would unite, rather than divide Ukrainians. In unity I see our strength and our future," the president said.

We recall that on July 27, a prayer service and a procession of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took place in Kyiv. And the Orthodox Church of Ukraine held its religious procession.

The procession was headed by Primate of the Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine Metropolitan Epifaniy. It started from Sofiivska Square.
