The religious procession of Orthodox Church of Ukraine, dedicated to the Christianization of Kyivan Rus' Day, has started in Kyiv.
The procession is headed by Primate of the Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine Metropolitan Epifaniy. It starts from Sofia Square and is heading to Volodymyrska Hill.
In the morning on July 28, Metropolitan Epifaniy held a sacred service on the occasion of 1031st anniversary of Christianization of Kyivan Rus'.
As we reported earlier, the prayer service and religious procession of Orthodox Church of Ukraine were held on July 27.
This is the first religious procession for the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
A day before, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (of Moscow Patriarchate) held the traditional procession in Kyiv. The annual event is dedicated to the Christianization of Rus' Day. It was reported that 300,000 people joined the holy procession. Among the parishioners, Yuriy Boyko, leader of Opposition Platform - For Life party, was seen.
